Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon<\/strong><\/h3>\n

When I became an Orthopaedic Consultant in 2004 I established the Foot and Ankle Service in Cheltenham. After 12 years, I was appointed an Orthopaedic Consultant in The Oxford Universities Hospitals Trust where I have been the Clinical led since 2021. I hold an honorary post in The University of Oxford, as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecture.<\/p>\n

I see private patients in both The Manor Hospital, Oxford and The Cheltenham Nuffield Hospitals. I maintain an NHS practice in Gloucestershire in the North Cotswolds Hospital.<\/p>\n

I graduated from Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge in 1989 and then King\u2019s College Hospital, London in 1993. My specialist Orthopaedic training was at The Middlesex Hospital and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospitals London, as well as a Fellowship sat The Children\u2019s Hospital, Westmead, Sydney, Australia and at Harvard, Boston, USA.<\/p>\n

I strongly believe in teaching the next generation of surgeons. I was Chairman of the Education Committee of the British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (2019-22), and have lectured on National and International Foot and Ankle Courses. I have designed and established Surgical courses across the UK, Africa and India. For over 12 years I have helped to set the standard for newly qualified Consultants as an Examiner of the FRCS (Tr&Orth), the highest level of orthopaedic qualification.<\/p>\n

My elective practice is exclusively Foot & Ankle surgery. My interests are in ankle arthritis, painful forefoot problems, sports injuries, minimally invasive hindfoot surgery and complex conditions due to underlying problems. This is mostly adults but I do see older children with Foot and Ankle conditions. I give expert Medico-legal opinions on complex or complicated Foot & Ankle conditions.<\/p>\n

I was elected the President of the British Orthopaedic Foot And Ankle Society (2023-24), who is the senior Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Surgeon in the UK.<\/p>\n

There are many ways to book an appointment at the Cotswold Foot & Ankle Clinic. This may be a referral from either your GP, Hospital Consultant, Chartered Physiotherapist or Podiatrist.<\/p>\n

For insured patients you will need to contact your insurance provider. If self-funding you may make a direct referral, but we prefer if you contact your GP, so they can inform us of your medical background.<\/p>\n
